Here is a before & after for the photograph I released today!
Its just a simple self portrait, but I thought that it was a perfect example of the power & impact Curves in Photoshop can have on an image. I achieved this image by using Curves, Layer Masks & a small amount of Gradient Maps.
I am currently working on my own color study (because i'm a black & white fanatic). So i'm pushing myself to get out of my comfort zone color wise. So far I am extremely happy with the results!

Feb 20 2013:

I live in good ol' suburbia, twenty minutes from the hustle and bustle of Atlanta. It's been a while since I've gone and done any exploring, gotten out of my comfort zone, or tried anything new. So these past few days I made a promise to travel out of my usual 15 mile radius and do something different!

Sunday morning I traded my warm bed for the cold air, me and my good friend decided to take a hike up to The Indian Seats, A 3.5 mile round trip path that led us to the top of this mountain overlooking beautiful farm land and rolling hills. I trekked my camera up to top only to find that there wasn't a memory card in it (lesson learned - ALWAYS make sure your memory card is in your camera before a shoot - 2nd to a charged battery). So we ended up snapping some Iphone & Instagram shots instead. The hike was well worth it and it got both of our endorphins moving!

That quote has been a part of my life for the past four years now. I remember sitting on my kitchen counter in our old apartment watching my mother write it on one of her paintings. Since then it has held a role in my life, some days in the most subtle and unique ways.
Today is the first day of the rest of my life.
I recently released my website, and i've been revamping my entire image as a photographer. Using social media, marketing, and this world I have at my finger tips to my advantage.
This blog will be used for posts on my recent photo shoots, behind the scene photos, tutorials, and occasionally a snippet of my writing or other creative outlets.
